Final Thoughts
Be Brave, Bob! finally launched last week!
It's been a bumpy road. I moved to a different country, started a new job, and even got married! Because of these and other reasons, I had to pause the game's development indifenitely several times. But here we are!
Be Brave, Bob! is a flawed game. It all started with the idea of the negative gravity, and trying to implement it on GB Studio. I do think it is a cool mechanic, but it is not enough to create a full game around it. Additionally, this game is a bit too difficult, and there is not a real story.
This said, I am proud of the final result. I believe it is original and fun to play, which were my main goals, so that's a win!
But most importantly, I have learned a lot about game design during this process. I am still interested in exploring the possibilities of the negative gravity mechanic, and I'm already jotting down ideas for a future game I don't know much about it yet. This is what I know: It will be a non-linear puzzle platformer where players will have to switch gravity and combine this with other mechanics to progress. It will also have a rich horror-scifi narrative.
But first, I am designing a board game, and learning the basics of Unity and Unreal Engine, so this is going to take a while...
Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy Be Brave, Bob!
